ABOUT FRUTY GREEN

PACKING

At Fruty Green Packing, we process and pack Colombian Hass avocados under the highest standards of quality, safety, and traceability. Since October 2019, we have operated our own packing plant, where we manage the fruit from reception to final shipment, integrating technology, quality control, and certified processes to serve national and international markets.

We work with social and environmental responsibility, under principles of legality and transparency, taking care of the product, the people and the environment at every stage of the process.

MISSION

Promote the sustainable development of Colombian Hass avocado and other fruits fresh through a model of innovative marketing, focused on shared profitability with our producers, operational efficiency and closeness with our global customers. We deliver high-quality fruit with sustainable, technological and responsible, strengthening our presence in both markets internationally as well as nationally.

VISION

By 2030, Fruity Green will be a company with its own presence in Europe and the US. The U.S., recognized as a benchmark in efficient, sustainable and High quality Hass avocado Colombian and other fresh products. We will strengthen alliances with producers in Colombia, generating value in the agricultural regions, and we will consolidate long-term business relationships with international clients who value the sustainability, freshness and origin responsible for our products.

HISTORY

March 2007

In March 2007, two businessmen acquired a property known as "El Cebadero", a 57-hectare farm located in the municipality of El Retiro in Antioquia. This property had a small house and a main avocado crop, including 100 of the Hass variety. By chance, days later they met with a friend who pioneered the cultivation of Hass Avocado in Antioquia, who convinced them of the benefits and potential of this industry and encouraged them to grow this specific variety of avocado for export purposes. With the support of the farm's foreman, an assistant, and the guidance of external advisors, on December 15, 2007, they planted the first of the initial 1,000 trees.

In 2008 they began the adaptation of «El Cebadero with the construction of internal roads, houses for the living and a warehouse designed to house a packing house and administrative offices; In addition, 17 hectares were reserved as forest and water protection zones.

Between the end of 2013 and the beginning of 2014, the properties that today make up the "La Estrella" farm in the town of Guática, Risaralda were acquired; Fruty Green then had 180 more hectares and began the expansion of the crop, reaching between 2014 and 2016 the planting of 51,000 trees.

In 2016 the company made the first direct exportation to Europe of a container with 21 tons; experience driving the company's next strategic project; Become an international marketer with the sole purpose of settel itself as a stronghold for the producers of the industry and the field in general.
from the beginning, Fruty Green opened its doors to share knowledge and experiences, and ended up becoming a study and training center for the different players in the industry. Today the industry feels proud of it and is recognized by different state institutions as pioneers and promoters of Colombian agriculture; Due to the excellent management of its crops, it receives the support and appreciation of the most prestigious brands in the private sector related to the avocado industry.

Starting in November 2017 and seeking to grow in exports, the company achieved through an agreement, the receipt of 100% of the fruit produced by the company Avocados Gourmet, who by October 2018 became partners of the packing house.

As of October 2021, 600 containers have been exported, reaching the European and American markets with the best safety practices and with a quality product. Likewise, our plant currently has certifications such as BRC AA, GlobalGap and Rainforest chain of custody, Smeta and Basc.
We hope to bring our product to the Asian and Argentine markets in the coming months.
